Innovative cooperation between the Apple and smart brands:
smart integrates iPod
into limited edition smart fortwo i-move
smart today announced that it is the first car manufacturer worldwide to offer an integrated iPod play-back and charging station into it's limited edition smart fortwo i-move that will go on sale from May 2004 in selected markets.
The white smart fortwo cabrio with a silver tridion safety cell will come standard with an iPod engraved with the smart logo and the smart "iPod Car Kit" consisting of a mount with connection for iPod. The limited edition smart fortwo i-move will be presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show (4th - 14th March 2004), and can be ordered at smart centres from April. It's price in Germany including tax: 17.900 euros.
The iPod Car Kit will also be available as a smart accessory throughout Europe from May for the smart fortwo coupe, fortwo cabrio and the smart roadster and roadster coupe. With this innovative integrated solution, smart drivers will be able not only to enjoy up to 10,000 tunes at home and in the office, but also in their car.
The smart accessory solution and iPod can be purchased separately or together as a bundle. The price of the bundle option (Car Kit, telephone console and iPod 20 GB) excluding car installation is 579 euros, and the accessory solution (Car Kit and telephone console) excluding car installation costs 184 euros. The smart iPod Car Kit works with the iPod 10 GB, 15GB and 20GB of the latest generation.
